The Animal Rescue Superhighway is pleased to announce our First Annual Animal Rescue Conference to be held Friday, October 1 through Sunday, October 3 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!

 

The purpose of this conference is to bring together animal rescue groups and individuals to learn current needs and trends in the animal rescue community. The conference will also serve as networking opportunity for animal advocates nationwide. We are in the process of scheduling speakers and gathering information to make this a unique, must-attend event for years to come!

 

We need to finalize planning and we can't do that completely until we know if you can make it! We will be offering a discounted, "early bird" rate of $99 per person for the weekend (plus the cost of your hotel and travel expenses). This early bird rate will include a special "Yappy Hour" on Friday evening, access to the conference on Saturday, lunch on Saturday, a "goodie" package and access to the entire weekend of networking, information and fun! Please note, this fee does NOT include the cost of your overnight accomodations.

 

In addition to our speakers, we are also pleased to announce that Sheila Webster Boneham, author of "Rescue Matters! How to Find, Foster and Rehome Companion Animals: A Guide For Volunteers and Organizers" will be on hand to speak on Saturday, as well as offering a special workshop on Sunday. The cost for this special Sunday workshop is an additional $50 to attend.

 

Speakers will be announced soon, but topics to be covered will be Humane Education, Animal Abuse and Neglect, Care and Feeding of Volunteers and much more.

 

The Conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Pittsburgh. They have offered attendees a discounted rate of $119 for single occupancy per night and $129 for double occupancy per night. This price includes a full hot breakfast for each night and free shuttle service to and from Pittsburgh International Airport. We will be happy to help you find a roommate if you are traveling alone, so please don't hesitate to ask!
